Soapberries

That Red House

100% natural, waste free, compostable, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, organic, vegan, grey water safe and economic these little beauties are natures answer to traditional laundry detergents. Also known as Soapnuts (even though technically not a nut) they are the dried shell from the fruit of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree. Exceptionally high in 'saponin' or nature's soap the saponin content reduces the surface tension of the water so it will remove dirt and leave fabrics, soft and clean. Simply place 5 whole shells in the cotton bag included and throw it in with you washing, you can use them 4-5 times before throwing them in your garden or compost. Suitable for front and top loaders, 250g of Soapnuts equates to around 90+ washes and countless other uses.

That Red House source their soapberries from the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal working closely with the small local communities that harvest their berries to ensure fair pay and working conditions. Their berries are packed in facility run entirely on solar power then shipped to Australia to ensure the lowest possible carbon footprint.
